The instant of greatest eclipse takes place on 1902 Apr 08 at 14:05:06 TD (14:05:06 UT1). This is 2.0 days before the Moon reaches perigee. During the eclipse, the Sun is in the constellation Aries. The synodic month in which the eclipse takes place has a Brown Lunation Number of -256.

The eclipse belongs to Saros 108 and is number 76 of 76 eclipses in the series. Thus, the 1902 Apr 08 event is the last eclipse of the series . All eclipses in this series occur at the Moon’s descending node. The Moon moves northward with respect to the node with each succeeding eclipse in the series and gamma increases.

This is a very deep partial eclipse. It has an eclipse magnitude of 0.0643, while Gamma has a value of 1.5024.

The partial solar eclipse of 1902 Apr 08 is followed two weeks later by a total lunar eclipse on 1902 Apr 22.
